It’s Your Calling. Follow It.

You ever look at someone else and think, “Why aren’t they doing this? It’s so obvious!” That idea you can’t shake, the vision you keep coming back to—it feels so clear to you that you wonder why no one else is on the same path. But here’s the thing: they don’t see it because it’s not theirs to see. It’s not their calling. It’s yours.
That other person isn’t doing the thing you want to do—not because they’ve figured out it won’t work, not because they know something you don’t, but simply because they don’t have the same thoughts, the same pull, the same spark of an idea gnawing at the edges of their mind.
That’s what makes it yours.

That Thought Keeps Coming Back for a Reason

Call it intuition, call it a gut feeling, call it whatever you want—but those thoughts, the ones that keep resurfacing when you’re walking the dog or staring out the window or lying awake at night? They’re not random. They’re nudges. Whispers of what you’re meant to be doing, or at the very least, what you’re meant to explore.

And yeah, it’s tempting to talk yourself out of it. To think, “If this was such a good idea, surely someone else would’ve done it by now.” Or, “If no one else is doing it, maybe it’s not worth pursuing.” But that’s just fear talking, trying to convince you to stay safe and small.

No one else is doing it because no one else has your perspective. Your mix of skills, experiences, and passions. It doesn’t need to make sense to anyone else—it just needs to feel right to you.

Your Calling Isn’t for Them to Understand

The thing about callings is they’re deeply personal. They’re built from what makes you you. Someone else might look at the path you want to take and shrug. They might not get it. And that’s fine, because it’s not theirs to get.

We spend so much time looking for external validation—waiting for someone to tell us our idea is brilliant, our vision is worthwhile. But if you’re waiting for the world to give you permission, you’ll be waiting a long time.

Instead, ask yourself this: What if the very fact that I can see it means I’m supposed to do it?

Because no one else is going to do it the way you can.

Follow It

So what do you do with that thought that won’t let go? You start. You follow it. You take a small step, however imperfect, in the direction of your calling. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need to trust that it’s worth exploring—that if this idea, this pull, this whisper keeps showing up for you, there’s something there.

Because when you follow your calling, you’re not just chasing an idea—you’re answering yourself. You’re honoring the things that make you you.

And if no one else is doing it? Even better. That’s how you know it’s yours.
